About Our Club
The Juneau Rifle & Pistol Club (JRPC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a safe, responsible, and enjoyable environment for sport shooting in Southeast Alaska. Established in 1937, the JRPC has been a cornerstone of the Juneau community for nearly a century, promoting marksmanship, hunter safety education, and camaraderie among firearms enthusiasts.
We are proudly affiliated with the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). We provide organized competitive shooting programs and comprehensive safety training for individuals and families in the Juneau area.
What We Do
JRPC offers a wide variety of shooting disciplines and events throughout the year, catering to all skill levels from novice to expert. Our activities include:

Competitive Leagues: Participate in structured leagues for various firearms.

Matches & Events: Engage in exciting events such as Steel Plate, "Clang and Bang," SASS (Single Action Shooting Society), and Three Gun competitions.

Training & Education: We host certified NRA firearms training courses and Range Safety Officer (RSO) certification programs to ensure all participants understand and follow proper safety protocols.
Range Partners
JRPC does not own its own range; instead, we rent the range with the State of Alaska and the City and Borough of Juneau to utilize local facilities. Most of our events take place at two primary locations:
Juneau Hunter Education Shooting Complex (JHESC): We frequently use this state-of-the-art indoor, heated, and environmentally-controlled range, which features a modern air-handling system. This facility is ideal for our handgun events during the winter.
Hank Harmon Public Range (HHPR): We utilize this city-managed outdoor range for larger caliber and longer-distance shooting events.
Become a Member
Joining the JRPC is the best way to get involved in the local shooting sports community. Membership provides numerous benefits, including reduced event fees, use of steel targets in the CONEXs at the range upon orientation, and classes such as NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) Certification. With the NRA RSO Certification, members will get exclusive access to industry discounts to firearms, hunting gear, and optics, direct from manufacturer or on Expertvoice. If none of our events are something you're particularly interested in, we welcome members to start up their own.
